Creating Event Registrants via Form Posts

Learn how to efficiently create event registrants by utilizing form post submissions for streamlined registration processes.

Overview

If you collect event registrations through an external form, you can pass those registrations directly to your Goldcast event by using a form post. You can send standard registrant fields and custom form fields.

Step 1: Collect the event ID and form ID from your Goldcast event

  1. Log in to Goldcast Studio using your credentials.
  2. Select your preferred event from the Events list.
  3. Once you’re in the Event dashboard, click Integrations on the left sidebar, and scroll to the About this event section.
  4. Copy-paste the Goldcast Form ID and Event ID in Notepad or any other word-processing software. Both of these fields are essential for a successful registration post.

Step 2: Send an HTTPS POST request to the registration endpoint

Once you have collected the Goldcast Form ID and Goldcast Event ID, you can make posts to the endpoint below.

The Body Type of the request must be form-data.

Take note of the fields that are required.

Step 3: Send custom form fields (optional)

If your Goldcast registration form includes custom fields, send their values in a single props field.

  1. Find the API name of each custom field on your form.
  2. Create a JSON object. Use the field API names as keys and the registrant's answers as values.
  3. Add the JSON object to your request as the value of the props field.

The following example sends the standard fields and two custom fields:

curl --location 'https://backend.goldcast.io/core/user/registration/' \
 --form 'first_name="Alex"' \
 --form 'last_name="Rivera"' \
 --form 'email="alex.rivera@example.com"' \
 --form 'event_id="<your-event-id>"' \
 --form 'form_id="<your-form-id>"' \
 --form 'city="Seattle"' \
 --form 'country="United States"' \
 --form 'props={"askUsAnything":"Is there a recording?","consentCheckbox":true}'
