Set up CPE credit distribution and certificates

Learn how to effectively distribute CPE credits and manage certificate issuance for enhanced participant engagement and compliance.

Introduction

Goldcast enables the creation of certificate designs, the definition of CPE eligibility rules, and the automatic distribution of certificates to qualifying attendees following a live event.

This workflow is suitable for offering continuing professional education (CPE) credits for a Goldcast event and automatically distributing certificates to attendees who meet the defined requirements.

This article provides guidance on setting up and managing in-house CPE credits for live events in Goldcast. Organizers can utilise this workflow to define qualification rules, create branded certificates, send certificate emails to eligible attendees, and review reporting for delivery and audit purposes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • You have access to certificate configuration for your Goldcast account.
  • You are setting up CPE for a live event.
  • You know the qualification criteria your attendees must meet.
  • You have any branding assets you want to use, such as logos, signatures, or certificate background images.

What are CPE credits?

CPE stands for Continuing Professional Education. CPE credits are used to track participation in qualified educational activities such as webinars, workshops, and training sessions.

You can use Goldcast Platform to support CPE workflows by defining qualification rules, generating certificates, and sending certificates to qualifying attendees after an event.

Before you set up CPE

Keep these points in mind when planning your workflow:

  • CPE certificates are intended for attendees who meet your qualification requirements.
  • Qualification can be based on one or more criteria, such as attendance time, poll participation, or survey completion.
  • For multi-session events, you may need to decide whether credits are awarded per event or per session.
  • Your reporting workflow should match any audit or compliance requirements your team needs to support.

How CPE credit distribution works

At a high level, the setup works like this:

  1. Create a certificate design in the Certificates builder.
  2. Open an event or template and add CPE eligibility rules.
  3. Select the certificate design and delivery email. Further, review and save the configuration.
  4. After the event, Goldcast evaluates attendee activity and emails certificates to qualifying attendees.
